Overview:

In your post-graduate careers you’ll be subjected to performance reviews (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site., whether as the subject of the review, or the reviewer. While we won’t be using that framework here, this assignment is designed to mimic that process a bit, by asking you to reflect on the peer comment process, both as someone who received comments from your peers and as someone who gave feedback to them.

The goal here is to have you gather the comments you gave and received throughout the 4 Discussions this semester and evaluate which feedback was most useful to you as a writer, and which of the comments you made to your peers were the most constructive.

At the end of this activity, you should have a fairly good gauge of how useful peer feedback can be (assuming you go back and read it sometime) as well as how well or carefully you crafted your own responses to your peers’ work.

Prompt

The 50 points for this assignment will be divided into 4 sections, points per section. In a Word document, do the following:

  1. First Section: cut and paste all the comments YOU MADE for Discussions 1-4 and label which comments were for what Discussion. (10 pts)
  2. Second Section: Write a 200-word reflection where you discuss which of the comments YOU MADE on other students’ work you now feel were the most useful and WHY. You might also want to mention whether your comments got better with time, or how evaluating your own feedback changed your mind about what to say to other students. (15 pts)
  3. Third Section: cut and paste all the comments YOU RECEIVED for Discussions 1-4 and label which comments were for what Discussion. (10 pts)
  4. Fourth Section: Write a 200-word reflection where you discuss which of the comments YOU RECEIVED were the most useful and WHY. You might want to mention whether you read them at the time, or only confronted them now. (15 pts)

*Write two 200-word reflections for the comments I made and received
