Resource-Based Learning with Technology
Choose a state or common core content standard to be covered with this lesson. You can find the common core standards (which relate to language arts and math) at http://www.corestandards.org/read-the-standards/.
When you have chosen a content standard, develop a lesson plan that uses only existing online learning resources (more than one) to help your students meet the content standard. The idea is that students will fully learn a concept by viewing, listening, and/or reading the online resources, not by listening to you. Your lesson plan may include directions and instructions from the teacher, but it may not include any live content presentation or lecture from you. Be sure to include a high amount of detail in your directions so that young students would be able to understand and execute the directions. Also, use language appropriate for your audiences understanding.
This lesson plan should include the following elements:
A lesson title and summary
A brief description of your learners including grade and subject area
A list of links to the online learning resources from which students will learn, including links to these resources
A list of the Common Core/State standard(s) you chose
A list of materials and technologies used by the teacher and students
A timeline of activities (instructional procedures) that would be completed in the lesson. Indicate in which order and how each online learning resource will be featured and tell any directions/instructions or help that the teacher should give to students during the lesson. This should be very detailed and show the steps in the lesson from start to finish. Tell what the students and teacher would do during each step of the process and make this section is detailed enough for a substitute teacher to easily read and understand what to do.
An assessment plan that includes a rubric listing all elements you will be grading and how these will add up to a final grade
